Very little. A typical LED system draws less power than a couple of household bulbs and runs on a timer or photocell.

Landscape Lighting in Sandwich, Illinois
Landscape lighting does two jobs at once. It makes steps, walks and drives safe to use after dark, and it puts the best parts of the property - a specimen tree, a stone wall, the front elevation of the house - on display for the eight months a year when you come home in the dark.
We design with layers rather than lining a walk with identical fixtures: soft uplights on trees and architecture, downlights for wash, discreet path and step lights only where they are needed for footing.
Systems are low-voltage LED, with a transformer sized for future additions, direct-burial cable and fixtures we can service. That matters more than it sounds - most of the lighting we replace failed at connections, not at the lamp.

Why It Matters
Safety first
Steps, grade changes and drives are lit so nobody is guessing where the edge is.
Layered, not lined up
Fixtures are placed to light something specific, which reads far better than a runway of path lights.
Serviceable system
Quality connectors and a properly sized transformer make future zones easy to add.
Common Questions
Usually yes, if the transformer has capacity and the existing cable is in good shape. We will check both before quoting.
Any time the ground is workable. Fall is popular because that is when people notice how dark the property gets.
