Project Overview
The goal was a destination at the far end of the property - somewhere shaded to sit in July, but still visually connected to the house. A timber pavilion anchors the corner, and a paver walk runs out to it so the lawn never gets worn into a dirt path.
Planting beds wrap the structure on two sides to soften the posts and give the seating area a sense of enclosure without closing it in. Ornamental grasses carry movement and winter interest; perennials are grouped in drifts so the beds read as one composition rather than a collection of individual plants.
Grades were adjusted around the pavilion pad so runoff moves away from the footings and out into the lawn instead of collecting under the roof.
