Project Overview
The grade beside the drive was slumping and putting soil where it did not belong. A properly built wall stops that permanently; a stacked-stone edge without a base and drainage does not.
Construction is the part nobody sees: excavation below frost-affected fill, a compacted aggregate base, drainage stone and fabric behind the stone, and a buried first course so the wall has something to push against.
The face was laid up by hand, fitting stone to stone, with the top course selected for a consistent finished line.
